Pirates and Imposters
I continue to receive requests for QSL cards from Amateurs and SWLs around the world for contacts that are not in my log. In fact, these contacts are for days and times when I was not on that band, was not operating the reported mode, was just not on the air that day, or indeed was not even in the country. I have received a number of QSL requests for contacts during one three week period when I was on holiday in America. Unfortunately, I have received reports of a number of stations who were pirating my call sign. From the number of requests I've received, I believe the JA stations were the largest group of victims of these pirates and imposters.
If you are not in my log, then you may have been the victim of a pirate, or you may have mistakenly thought we were exchanging information when I was actually working a different station. In either case, I'm very sorry that I cannot confirm your QSL.
