Eagle Country Radio is a low power unlicensed FM stereo radio station broadcasting on a non-interference basis on FM 95.5 in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations for low power unlicensed broadcasting. Power output is 25 milliwatts and our coverage is limited to the area around Byron Middle School. The frequency of 95.5 megahertz is not assigned to any licensed commercial radio station with a market expectation in the Byron, Georgia area. To determine this, an Internet search of FCC records was performed. Also, monitoring of the frequency with a high quality FM receiver determined that three commercial FM stations could be heard sporadically in the Byron area. However, each station faded in and out as conditions changed, and one or another of the three stations captured the frequency from each other at irregular intervals. A casual listener within range of our station could therefore not rely on continuous reception of any licensed station on the frequency.
